called "Why me? Why not" which is, I've probably said this before,
years ago in Munich before I got my head kicked in, I was over there doing
something and there was an exhibition going on, a Yoko Ono exhibition with John
Lennon's artwork. So I went in and I've seen this picture of him that he'd
drawn and it said "Why me?" on it and I thought that's pretty... You
see, you know art says something to you, d’ya know what I mean? And I was going
‘It’s saying something to me, man, I'll buy that anyway.’ Anyway, met Yoko a
couple of years later 'cause she wanted to meet me, 'cause I called me kid
Lennon, d’ya know what I mean? So we met round her house at the Dakota Building
and she made us tea and biscuits and I said ‘I've bought one of his paintings,
a couple of his paintings’, she went ‘oh, which one ?’ and she said ‘The Why Me
one?’ and she goes ‘Oh he did another one.’ I was going ‘Oh no no I didn't
know’, she goes ‘I'll send it you.’ Anyway, to cut on the story short, I'm in
my back garden and I got two cats at that time called Mick and Keith and I'm
sitting there having a beer. Next minute the door goes and there's a big like
picture sent for us, I've opened it up and there's a picture of him in the same
position with his two cats or one cat or whatever and underneath it just says
‘Why not.’

mi menassero, per fare qualcosa, e c’era una mostra, una mostra di Yoko Ono con

ti dice qualcosa? E ho pensato: “Questo mi sta dicendo qualcosa, amico, lo
compro”. In ogni modo incontro Yoko un paio di anni dopo, voleva vedermi,
perché io ho chiamato mio figlio Lennon, capisci? Ci incontriamo a casa sua al
Dakota Building, lei ci prepara tè e biscotti e io faccio: “Ho comprato uno dei
disegni di John, un paio di disegni”. “Oh, quale?”, chiede, “quello dove c’è
scritto Why me?”. E continua: “Ne fece un altro”. E io: “Oh, non lo sapevo”, e
lei: “Te lo manderò”. Comunque, per farla breve, sono nel mio giardino –
all’epoca avevo due gatti chiamati Mick
e Keith – e me ne sto seduto a bere una birra. Un minuto dopo si apre la
porta ed entra (il corriere con) una specie di grande foto mandata per noi. Apro (il pacco) e c’è un disegno di John
nella mia stessa posizione con i suoi due gatti, o uno, vabbe', e sotto scritto
“Why not”.
Quindi stavano una vicino
all’altra.
L: So
they’re separate ones, ‘Why me?’ and ‘Why not’, I tought ‘this is a bit weird’,
that was like 18 years ago.
Erano separate, ‘Why me?’ e ‘Why not’. Ho pensato: ’sta cosa è un po’ bizzarra.

D: When
you had your cat with you when you opened it up?

had Mick and Keith on me and I think he had his cat, I don't know what he is

album is out in September I think, but there's a couple of singles beforehand,
that are always cool and that.

Why not", that might be time for you to take a little break whilst you're
