Oggi nella storia degli Oasis

Il 20 novembre 2006 usciva Stop the Clocks, il greatest hits degli Oasis, una retrospettiva in realtà un po' imposta dalla Sony, con cui la band era in scadenza di contratto discografico.
I due CD comprendono 18 pezzi scelti da Noel Gallagher, che escluse dalla raccolta tutti i brani contenuti in Be Here Now. Con 3 dischi di platino fu il più grande successo di vendite degli Oasis dai tempi di Be Here Now. Un'edizione limitata della compilation comprende anche un DVD con un'intervista a Liam e Noel della durata di quaranta minuti, intitolata Lock the Box.
Liam Gallagher si disse contento delle scelte del fratello, ma forse avrebbe inserito anche Rockin' Chair e D'You Know What I Mean?, "anche se la lunghezza della canzone avrebbe interrotto il flusso dell'album".
La copertina è opera di Peter Blake, noto per aver disegnato la copertina di Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band dei Beatles e per aver lavorato per Paul Weller. oasisnotizie
